 Seville
Airport is about 5 miles to the east of the city
of Seville in the far south of Spain at the village
of San Pablo which gives the airport its full name
of Seville - San Pablo Airport. Over the first 10
years of the 21st century it has doubled its annual
passenger traffic and now handles over 4 million
passengers each year. Over 200,000 passengers fly
to Seville each year from the United Kingdom and
budget airlines including Ryanair and easyJet provide
services from airports including London-Gatwick,
East Midlands and London-Stansted. The airport has
parking spaces for over 1800 vehicles which are
covered to provide protection from the heat of the
southern Spanish sun.
One of the first things that passengers arriving
at Seville Airport might notice is the unique, architecture
of the terminal building and car parking area. In
1992, Seville - San Pablo Airport was modernised
and expanded and a new terminal building constructed
in anticipation of the Universal Exposition of Seville.
The architect, Rafael Moneo, used the southern Spanish
themes of the mosque, the palace and orange trees
and the visually pleasing result is a real departure
from the usual hi-tech "big shed" design
adopted by most modern airports.
The Hertz outlet at Seville Airport has an extensive
selection of rental cars providing customers with
a wide choice of models from which to choose. Among
the Hertz fleet are six and seven seater people-carriers,
small family and economy hatchbacks, executive saloons
and automatics. There are even models such as the
Mini Cooper in the Fun Collection. The Hertz car
rental desk is located in the main passenger terminal
of Seville Airport in the Arrivals Area which is
on the ground floor. Passengers leaving the Baggage
Claim will find the car hire offices on their right
