 Handling
over 10 million passengers each year, Gran Canaria
is the busiest Airport in the Canary Islands and
the fifth busiest in Spain as a whole. The airport
is on the east coast of Gran Canaria and is about
12 miles south of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the
capital of the island. There are excellent communications
with the popular tourist resorts including Playa
del Ingles, Maspalomas and San Agustan on the south
of the island via the GC-1 motorway.
Gran Canaria Airport is also known as Las Palmas
de Gran Canaria International Airport and has three
passenger terminals - A, B and C. Terminal A handles
international air traffic and the minor Terminals
B and C are reserved for inter-island domestic traffic.
